ABOUT US

About Us
We will be very excited to have you as a part of our club, and as a part of the worldwide family of Rotaract and Rotary International. By joining Rotaract, you are proving your commitment to “service above self.”

What Do We Do?
We participate in a variety of community and international service projects, as well as leadership and professional development. A few past community service projects of the Rotaract Club of Sandy Bay have included fundraising through cupcake baking and volunteering at local organisations. We also work with local Rotary Clubs on their various community projects.  By working with local Rotary Clubs you have professional development opportunities, through meeting and networking with local Rotarians. Many Rotarians are the business and civic leaders of our community.

You can also take advantage of leadership development opportunities by volunteering for committees. We have various committees such as international service, public relations, community service, and much more. In the autumn of each year we hold elections for executive board positions for the following year. You also have the opportunity to serve as a district representative to the District Rotaract Committee.

About Rotary and Our District
Rotary International is organised by geographical districts. We are a part of District 9830 which covers all of Tasmania. Rotaract in each district is represented by the District Rotaract Reprasentative (DRR), while each district is headed by a Rotarian called the District Governor.
There are currently two other Rotaract Clubs in District 9830; the Rotaract Clubs of Tamar Valley and Central Coast.

Conferences
Rotaract offers the opportunity to attend state, national and international conferences to network and meet other Rotaractors and Rotarians from all parts of the world. One of these is the Australian Rotaract Conference, which is an initiative of Rotaract Australia. For more information please visit:
